The Butterfly on the end of the mural was directly inspired by a parfleche in the Lakota Cultural Center in Eagle Butte. The symbols you see inside the orange stripe are my version of the Haudenosaunee Sky Domes, a representation of our creation story as well as our worldview. This is a nod to my Oneida heritage, and I shared the story with Covain during one of our breaks on this project.
