Everything Must Go was the title for my BFA Exhibition at the Insitute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. During this time this gallery was called the Primitive Edge, which was later named the Balzer Gallery. At that time the space was usually divided between two students and changed out after a week or so, it just so happened that a fellow painter had stepped out of the program which left a gap in the gallery schedule, my fellow graduating seniors were kind enough to let me take up the entire space, at that time I had roughly 90 plus pieces to show. My original proposal was to paint Style Writing or Lettering in the gallery, however this was denied as it was thought that the fumes would be sucked up into the air vents and circulated around the building... The compromise was to allow me to paint sections of the background for the installation to give the appearance of a "buffed" wall where the graff had been eradicated. The title was tongue-in-cheek and referenced the George Harrison album "All Things Must Pass," both ideas dealing with transience.
