This piece was painted next to the "Takoja" piece. It depicts an elder hand holding the hand of a child. This Lakota word means grandchild, and I remember my great-Grandmother Josephine Rooks using this word when she greeted me. I also have a distinct memory of holding her old hands, which had been softened by the years.
